It was midnight. A cool wind blew from somewhere north, gently forcing my jet-black hair to sway back-and-forth, back-and-forth. The golden light from the lamps glowed itself upon the dull-seeming cobblestone path. A chilling silence was present that night, and even as a heartless it had it's effect on me. A twinge of paranoia stung in, so I decided to hide out somewhere and gather my wits.

The base is surprisingly quiet that night. Usually the Heartless are all around, training to take out their enemies. Everything is quiet... To the right is your room where they had let you stay while you were at the base. To the left is the training grounds, where the other Heartless would usually practice before going out to the other worlds, gathering hearts. But now, strange as it seems, everything seems to have become still as the night you see.

I mulled it over a moment. A little training wouldn't do any harm, and the lesser heartless were so annoying. This was a golden opportunity. I abruptly pivoted to my left and stepped towards the eerily deserted training grounds.

The training grounds were simple, a small square ring of stones encase a few training dummies, made of straw and mounted on a pole. The scratches on them show the years of training they had to go through and one of them has a long gash along it's side, emptying the stuffing it was filled with. The only company you will seem to get would be these crudely made objects. Benches were placed randomly around the burnt grass of the grounds for resting.

I smiled and proceeded to pull out my daggers, gleaming dimly in the golden light. With a flick of my wrist, five of the dummies become impaled by daggers, I then proceed to completely disassemble one of them with the remaining knives and decapitate the rest, all in a matter of five seconds.

"Very good... very good..." A voice says from behind you. The tone was like ice, cold and hard. There were no footsteps behind you, but you can feel the air around you grow colder with every second, showing that something was approaching.

I glanced back and allowed the daggers to return to me. "And you are?" I said in an equally icy monotone to the stranger.

An Invisible stood there, glaring at you. "You will not talk to me in that tone." He growled.

This time I turned around, my red eyes steeling into the sword-wielding heartless's empty eyes. "And why not?" I asked, again in the same cold monotone. I looked around for my daggers in case a fight would ensue.
"I talk to who I want how I want," I added with an satisfied almost-grin.

The Invisible sighed. "You should learn your place you good for nothing Shadow." He muttered. "You know, as well as I know, that you stand no chance against me. So you should respect your superiors."

I managed an emotionless chuckle. "Superior," I asked in the same voice to annoy him. "You honestly think that?"
"Respect is for those worthy of it," I said, bordering on emotion. "Now leave, or die," I stated matter-of-factly.

The Invisible shook his head. "Trainees these days." He muttered. "Ok look, you've come here to train and we need those Keyblade scum out of here so we can take over. I'm going to train you so you can go off on your own, got it?"

I backed off a little. It didn't seem he had malevolent intentions as I'd first assumed, so I saw no point in wasting energy on the scum. I'd get revenge on him for his pride someday anyhow. "I see," I muttered. I quickly retrieved my knives and stared into the sword-wielding heartless's empty golden eyes.
"And how shall we go about this 'training'?"

The Invisible seemed to smile as he waved his hand across the grounds. Three Shadows appeared, their small bodies twitching slightly as they anticipated what was about to happen. Their yellow eyes just stared blankly at you. "You must have the strength to kill some of your own kind. So these Shadows are nothing worth crying over. Kill them now." The Invisible growled.

I smiled, if this fool thought it would be difficult to kill one of my own kind...
I hurled daggers at all three and then ran forward to attack close-range.
